Temasek Poly Launches Asia's First Academic-Industrial BCM Program

SINGAPORE, 23 NOVEMBER 2010 -- Temasek Polytechnic (TP) today, launches strategic partnership with Business Continuity Management (BCM) Institute by exchanging Memorandum of Understanding to undertake a series of joint training initiatives, undergraduate and post graduate programs, research projects and industry studies on Business Continuity Management (BCM) practice, being first of its kind in Asia.

In December 2008, the National BCM Programme launched by SPRING Singapore has been driven by input from various government agencies including the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), the Economic Development Board (EDB), and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in line with the government's aim to establish a more resilient Singapore. This has also receive tremendous support from the private sector with programs such as the C3 (Competency, Capability & Capacity) Program that entails of convergence of BCM Institute, consultancy experts and independant certification bodies work in synergy to provide support from training (Competency) to implementation (Capability) and to certification (Capacity) for both organisation and personnel. Today, TP through its Temasek Engineering School emulates the country's vision in empowering the human capital for a stronger economic resiliency.

"We are more than happy to initiate in supporting the government's aim and empowering individuals and businesses to be BCM competent in today's environment and also in the future." expressed Mrs Tan Siok Lie, Director of the school. "Furthermore, with the expertise of BCM Institute, having industrial expertise in BCM not only in Singapore but also throughout the region, we believe that TP will produce BCM competent workforce for the country and perhaps this region." she added.

Meet-the-Expert Debuts in Brunei
