Meet-the-Experts, Thailand Press Release 8 July 2010
Program Management - The Key to Business Continuity Readiness

Bangkok, 8 July 2010 - While the current political situation in Thailand continues to test the effectiveness of an existing organization's business continuity (BC) plans, Thai professionals understand that it also calls for organizations to review and update its plan to be more comprehensive. BCM Institute will be hosting the upcoming Meet-the Expert (MTE) seminar on the topic of program management. The seminar will be jointly presented by Mr Khun Bhakorn Vanuptikul, Executive Vice President of Bangkok Bank and Dr Goh Moh Heng, President of BCM Institute on 14th July 2010 at the Grand Mercure Fortune Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand.
Top-notch BC speakers will be discussing how organizations should maintain its BCM initiative through advanced exercise and test regimes. It will cover the need to constantly train and increase the business continuity, disaster recovery and crisis management awareness amongst its staff and stakeholders. This seminar also includes the audit and review of the current BCM initiative and lastly, to create a BCM culture so as to have long term sustainability for any organization preparing itself for unpredictable events. Events such as the Bangkok unrests have taught us to seriously review and upgrade our BCM capability based on the changing threat environment. “The lack of effort during the program management process in many organizations has resulted in a lack of a proper maintenance and update of a BCM plan which results in a lack of readiness to handle any new disruptive events to the organizations,” explained Dr Goh.
For the first time in Bangkok and arising from pressing requests from over 100 Thai professionals, BCM Institute will be offering its crisis management and simulation masterclass sessions on July 14 and 15, 2010. The need to better understand how a crisis is managed at the management level and the integration with the BCM team is crucial, especially based on the turn of events over the past few weeks in Bangkok. In addition, masterclass participants will be trained to develop and experience a disaster simulation exercise. To enhance and maximise the learning experience, even further, BCM Institute will recall all the crisis details in a small class - Crisis Management and Simulation. Participants who complete this comprehensive exercise will be recognised as an esteemed Member of BCM Institute (MBCMI).
The Meet-the-Expert series continue to serve as a welcoming platform for leading business continuity expert practitioners to discuss Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery issues and to network. For more information on the MTE seminar, please log on to http://www.worldcontinuitycongress.com
