Address IT Risks in Your Organization NOW!

IBM in collaboration with BCM Institute jointly present …
IT has become an essential part of virtually every business process that in fact, managing IT risk actually means protecting the business itself. The roles of IT managers and CIOs today has evolved beyond concerning what's happening in the data center or the IT department as a best practice model would need to employ more strategic and innovative approaches in managing IT risk.
The 2010 IBM Global IT Risk Study - part of the ongoing research IBM conducts in the area of IT risk, in cooperation with the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), presents a strong point of view from IBM on the important opportunities in IT risk management for IT managers & CIOs throughout the industries worldwide.
Among the key findings are four primary focus areas that participants all over the world emphasized again and again:
• Risk maturity. Few of today's organizations are "risk mature" — fully prepared for all risk situations that may occur. The lack of a risk-aware culture plays a big part in this lack of maturity.
• Culture. Without a risk-aware culture, even the best efforts to mitigate risk may not succeed.
• Data protection and privacy. Data is the unifying concern across all IT risk management domains.
• Emerging trends. On the radar is the need to incorporate cloud computing, mobile technology and social networking into the existing infrastructure.

Because IT touches just about every aspect of the business, IT risk management represents the best opportunity to address risk management initiatives and align the management of risk with overall business strategies and objectives. Alongside shifting business and economic environments, the traditional roles of IT Manager and CIO are evolving into a position of responsibility for enterprise-wide IT risk management and its integration with business-driven risk and overall corporate objectives. |
